Wednesday, June 13th at 7:00 PM

Topic:  Claude Monet: Evolution of a Gardener

Speaker:  Tish Robinson

This month, the program will be presented by Tish Robinson, a French scholar and owner of The Wonders of France. She specializes in the history of French gardens, the social history of the Age of Impressionism, Paris and the French Provinces

Monet captured in his art the leisure pursuits of gardening and horticulture.  His many gardening influences will be explored – including his family’s luxurious gardens on the Normandy coast, and his private gardens in the legendary riverside towns of Argenteuil and Vetheuil. The artist’s greatest masterpiece, the unforgettable gardens at Giverny, will complete our study of Monet’s evolution as a gardener.

Tish Robinson is the owner of The Wonders of France which offers slide programs about France and French culture.  Tish’s love affair with France, the French language and French culture began over five decades ago.  She received a BA in French Literature from Northwestern University and taught high school French; she has traveled to France countless times and has been a contributor to Paris Notes newsletter.
