Wednesday, March 8th Presentation

“How can you use Project-Based Learning to bring your passion into your Community?”
Spring Valley Nature Center in Schaumburg
Meeting starts promptly at 7:00 pm.
Prairie Partners is an after-school club that involves two different schools in school District 54. Magnet science students in 8th grade serve as Mead Mentors to a group of twenty Prairie Partner 6th grade students at Hoover elementary school. Together with the help of Mr. Sustich (Hoover gifted teacher) and Mr. Pfeifer (Mead Magnet science teacher) students learn the importance of community service, native gardening and mentorship.

Schaumburg Community Garden Club, profits from your purchases of native plants, has donated native wildflowers and grasses to help Prairie Partners start their prairie 2 years ago!

Prairie Partners has kicked off our second year! This fall, the students worked on caring for new prairie that grew over the summer. They harvested some seeds and leaves from the prairie to preserve for the future. Their prairie is thriving!
